About Jesus & Mary College
Jesus & Mary College is run by the sisters of Jesus & Mary Congregation. It originated in France in 1818. The college was established in 1968. The aim of JMC has been to make God Known to young and the destitute. The college focuses on all round development of the students and seeks to make them successful in both their professional and personal life by providing a healthy academic environment. It has over 2400 regular students in the college. More over it is a center for Non Collegiate Women's Education Board, and the IGNOU or the . Spread over an area of 14 acres JMC takes extreme care of its infrastructure.
Facilities At Jesus & Mary College
The library is well equipped with more than 40000 books. The library also houses a counseling -cum- vocational guidance cell to provide professional and vocational guidance to the students. In addition to these it has its own playground and ample facilities for sports and other extra curricular activities.
Courses at Jesus & Mary College
JMC offers B.A. (Hons) courses in Economics, English, History, Hindi, Mathematics, Political Science, Psychology, and Sociology. The college also offers B.A. (pass) courses.
Jesus & Mary college also offers a four year professional degree programme called Bachelor of Elementary Education. The course enables the students to teach at the elementary level (Grade I to Grade VIII).
The college also offers courses to those who are unable to join a regular course for some external constrains. The Non Collegiate Women's Education Board, JMC teaching Centre offers B.Com (pass) B.A. (pass) courses both in English and Hindi medium.
Admission in Jesus & Mary College
Admission to Undergraduate Programme
Admission to under graduate programme in Jesus & Mary College depends upon the percentage of marks obtained in 10+2 or its equivalent. In order to get admitted to the B. Com (Hons) and B.A. (Hons) one needs to have the required cut-off marks that are declared every year by the college. The English department conducts an entrance test for admission to the B.A. (Hons) English courses. The minimum age for admission to first year degree courses in Jesus & Mary College is 17 years before 1st of October of the year in which she is seeking admission. The college also reserves seat for students in the sports quota.
Admission to B.EL.ED Admission to this professional course at Jesus & Mary College is done through a centralized written and oral test conducted by Faculty of Education, University of Delhi. JMC reserves 50% of the seats for the Christian students.
Admission to Post Graduate Programme For admission to the postgraduate programme in Jesus & Mary College candidates first need to register themselves with the respective faculty of the University of Delhi. The students should be of 20 years of age for getting admitted in the Masters programme. The College offers tutorial classes for the postgraduate programme that will supplement the lectures at the University.
