- Candidates applying for UG Courses in this college must pass the WBCHSE / ISC / CBSE (+2 level) exam or any other equivalent examination from any other recognized Board/University Council.
- Must score pass marks in five recognized subjects (full marks of each subject: 100).
- Candidates seeking admission in any Honours course needs to fulfill all the specified criteria of the college and the Calcutta University.

- Political Science Hons: 60% aggregate
- English Hons: (WB Board) Aggregate 55%; (Other Boards) Aggregate 70%
- Sociology Hons: 55% aggregate

- Application forms for admission are made available in the College office.
- The application form is available immediately after the result of WBCHSE is published.
- The documents that are required at the time of admission are as follows:
- Original mark sheet of +2 exam
- Admit card of the last passed exam
- Transfer Certificates for those students who are coming from other institution
- Migration Certificate for candidates coming from other Boards/Councils/Universities
- Original SC /ST Certificate for candidates belonging to that category
- Two passport size photographs
