Prafulla Chandra College Admission Criteria
Candidates who wish to get admission to B.Com (Hons) and general courses offered by the college need to have passed their Higher Secondary Examination (+2 course) conducted by the West Bengal Council for High Secondary Education, or an equivalent examination by a board recognized by the University.
Candidates should have attained a minimum of 50% marks in their previous examination in the related subjects. In case of B.Com (Hons) programs, candidates should have attained 50% marks in
Candidates who passed their last examination more than 3 years prior to will not be entertained for admission. The college reserves 22% for SC candidates 6 % for ST candidates and 3% for physically handicapped candidates.
Prafulla Chandra College Admission Procedure
The exact dates of distribution of admission forms and the last date for receipt of filled in applications forms are notified on the college notice board right after the publication of the results of higher secondary examination. Candidates are given admission on the basis of merit, availability of seats and fulfillment of required formalities.
Along with the application form, during the time of admission the following requirements are needed:
- A recent passport sized photograph.
- Previous passed examination's mark sheets.
- Age proof (Eg: Admit card of Madhyamik).
- Caste Certificate from responsible Government Officers for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Other Backward Castes if applicable.
- Transfer Certificate/Character Certificate from the institution last attended.
- Registration Certificate of candidates who are already registered with the Calcutta University.
- Migration Certificate for candidates coming from institutions/boards outside West Bengal.
The college requires attested photo copies of the testimonials at the time of admission.The original document will have to be shown for verification.
Forms will be issued on 1, 3, 4, 5,6th June 2009. Completed application forms can be submitted by 9th June (5:30pm-7:00pm)
First list of selected candidates will be put up by the 15th June.
Application forms cost is Rs 30.
