The Surendranath College for Women Kolkata gets its name from its founder - the nationalist leader Surendranath Banerjea. The women's section came into being in the year 1931. It was established by Mira Datta Gupta who was the first Principal of the school.

Surendranath College for Women Admission:
Forms are available from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. from 2nd June, 2009 to 5th June 2009.
Merit List will be put up on the following dates:
n 15th June 2009 for Science students.
On 16th June 2009 for Arts students.
On 17th June 2009 for Commerce students at 12-00 noon.
Admission commences from the 20th June. Forms can be downloaded from the website along with Rs40/-. All past academic records are to be shown when applying. Admit Card, Mark Sheet and a letter from the natural or legal Guardian. Students from other boards will have to produce original migration certificate from the board which he/she studied from.
