About Mithibai College
SVKM's Mithibai College is only the short form of Mithibai College of Arts, Chauhan Institute of Science, & Amrutben Jivanlal College of Commerce. It was established in 1961. However the Commerce section was introduced 19 years after the Arts & Science sections were operational and it has a separate structure. Mithibai College is part of the range of educational institutions that belong to the Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal group and it is affiliated to the . Mithibai College is today a large institution with 257 teachers and 9600 students. It is located near the Ville Parle station and a neighbor of Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics or what is better known as N.M. College.
Facilities at Mithibai College
The library of Mithibai College has more than 57,000 books and 109 journals and periodicals. It remains open between 7:00 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. The closure time is extended till 7:00 p.m. during the examination days. Mithibai College also provides opportunities for co-curricular and extracurricular activities.
The Gymkhana hall is equipped with chessboards, 2 table tennis tables & 4 carom boards. Students are also provided with Swimming pool, Courts for badminton, Tennis, basketball, cricket pitch and other sports facilities on a temporary basis.
