A.J Kidwai Mass Communication Research Centre, Jamia is one of the best mass communication institutes in India. The institute was founded in 1982 with the support of Mr. Anwar Jamal Kidwai (Vice Chancellor-Jamia Millia Islamia) through association with the York University of Toronto. It aims at training its students in media with the knowledge of media and the feel of social responsibility. The fields of Mass Communication covered by the institutes's curriculum include electronic journalism, photography, sound recording, sound recreation, television, radio, film and theatre.

Courses at A.J. Kidwai Mass Communication Research Centre,Jamia covers different areas of Mass Communication like visual communication, street theatre, theory of communication and puppetry. The activities after completion of the courses comprise creation of media products in still photography, film, television, radio and tape slide shows. The institute also develops programs for UGC telecasts. The institute also allows media research work.

Bachelors Degree in Humanities/ Natural Sciences/ Social Sciences/ Commerce/Medicine/Engineering
b) M.A. in Convergent Journalism-
Bachelors Degree in Humanities/Commerce/Science with 50% marks
c) Ph. D. in Mass Communication-
- 55% marks in post graduation in Mass Communication or with a Masters Degree in any subject with a total of 55% marks along with a 5 years working experience (teaching or other) in media
- NET, SLET and M.Phil is not required for admission to the Ph. D program in Mass Communication
d) PG Diploma in Development Communication-
Bachelors Degree in Social Sciences/ Commerce/ Humanities /Medicine/Engineering/ Natural Sciences
e) PG Diploma in Broadcast System Maintenance-
