Department of Management Studies, IIT Delhi
Department of Management Studies, IIT Delhi imparts excellent education to the students or scholars aspiring for a career in Management. This department was the first venture of an IIT to launch a regular department dedicated entirely to Management Education. DMS owes it origin to an idea conceived in 1963. DMS formally began its MBA course in 1997.
Courses at Department of Management Studies, IIT Delhi:
DMS offers a full-time MBA program with specialization in Management Systems. This 2 year program also offers scope for specialization in other areas apart from Management Systems. You can also pursue a full time MBA program in Telecommunication Systems Management at DMS, IIT Delhi. You can also study a part-time MBA program with specialization in Technology Management here. DMS also offers scope for Doctoral programs.
Eligibility for admission to DMS:
- A candidate will be considered eligible for applying for a MBA program, if he has a graduate degree in any area of Technology, Pharmacy, Engineering, Architecture or Agriculture Engineering with a minimum of 4 years of study after 10+2 level.
- You can also apply if you are a postgraduate in any area of Mathematical, Chemical or Physical Science or in Economics or Commerce.
- You can also apply, if you have appeared in the last level of your qualifying exam.
- You should also have at least 60% marks in total or a minimum of 6.75 CGPA on a 10-point measuring system during your qualifying exam.
- Students also need to appear for Joint Management Entrance Test to apply for an MBA program in DMS.
- For applying for a part-time MBA program, you should additionally have at least 2 years of work experience.
- There is a relaxation in the qualifying marks for the applicants of reserved categories.
Application Procedure for admission to DMS:
- A candidate with a valid JMET score, will be screened through group discussion as well as an interview.

- The selection procedure for admission to Doctoral program is based on a written test or an interview.
The application form will be distributed from January 6th 2009. The deadline for submitting the application form is January 30the 2009. The list displaying the names of the short listed candidates will be produced on February 10th 2009. The admission results will be declared on April 15th 2009.
