About Shailesh J Mehta School of Management, IIT Bombay, Mumbai –
IIT Bombay was set up in the year 1958 and it founded a management school in 1995, known today by the name, Shailesh J Mehta School of Management, IIT Bombay, Mumbai. This institute trains its graduates to confront new challenges that the dynamic business scenario offers. The Shailesh J Mehta School of Management boasts of the most modern state-of-the-art facilities. This management school aims to create professionals who will be able to manage business activities in an every changing environment where technology plays a key role.
- Master of Management program
Course duration – 2 years
The Master of Management program has been designed to let the managers learn the skills of understanding all the business activities in a comprehensive manner.
The program is a combination of core and elective courses. 24 courses are offered in the first year of this program, the first year being constituted of 4 terms. There is a 1-month winter project at the culmination of the first two terms and a 2-month summer project at the termination of the first year. The second year also has four terms, the final term being the time for the Course project.

The Doctoral Program trains the students for teaching jobs and careers in the field of research. This program offers the Ph. D. degree in the research areas mentioned above. First year of this program is meant for making the students proficient in general management and knowledgeable in the field of specialization. The general background management courses required to be taken up by the students should be worth 20 credits. Students also join advanced courses worth 16 digits in their preferred area of specialization.
The Credit Seminar is an important first of the first year of this program. After meeting all prerequisites of this program the students get registered for the Ph. D. degree and become eligible for carrying on the doctoral dissertation.

The study of the Business and Information Technologies is a global research program designed for realizing the effects of communication technologies on the business processes in India and abroad.
Admissions at Shailesh J Mehta School of Management, IIT Bombay, Mumbai:
Separate application forms are available for candidates intending to apply through GMAT and JMET. These forms are downloadable from the school website.Graduates with minimum 50% marks and those who are diploma holders with 50% marks are also eligible to apply. The last date for registration in the program is 27th January 2009. One has to pay Rs. 61, 250 for application.
