M.A., Masters in Arts



Introduction

Higher education is a need of today's rapidly developing world. A strong academic background is very essential for a bright career. It offers several good job opportunities throughout the world. Master's degree is a post-graduate program. M.A. or Master of Arts is a post graduate degree in Arts awarded by many universities and colleges in India. The program is available in various subjects.

Eligibility Criteria for M.A.

The candidate applying for M.A. should have completed bachelor's degree in respective subject with Honors. There are some entrance exams conducted by the colleges or universities for getting admission to M.A. The candidate should clear the exam with good marks. The candidate also faces personal interview. After clearing these criteria successfully, the candidate can get admission to respective university or college.

M.A. Program

M.A. is full-time program available in various subjects. It is normally a 2 years program. The program is available in various subjects including various languages such as English, Hindi and other regional languages and foreign languages such as German, French, Spanish and Japanese. M.A. can be done in psychology, social science, history, politics, economics, geography, sociology, logic and journalism. It is taught by conducting lectures, seminars and examinations. The examination is held in two semesters. The candidates completing M.A. course progress for the doctoral program. The candidates successfully completing M.A. course can achieve excellent job opportunities in various fields. They can work as a teacher in school, colleges and universities provided that they have cleared some eligibility criteria. They can also make their career in institutions, banks, industries, companies and other financial services.

M.A. courses are available in most of the well-known universities and colleges in India.
