Introduction
The IT industry is the most flourishing industry today. The finest jobs are still captured by the engineers. Another fruitful career option apart from the engineering and the Information Technology is the MCA or the Master of Computer Applications. This course done along with the engineering studies will definitely be an added advantage in regards with the job prospect. Non-engineering people can also pursue the MCA course after completing the graduation level.

Eligibility for the admission to the MCA Colleges
Candidates who have completed a three years bachelor degree or the graduation level with an aggregate percentage of fifty percent can apply for this course. Students must have computer science, mathematics or statistics as a subject at the 10+2 level.

Many MCA colleges and universities all over India offer courses in MCA. The selection process for these courses is very hard. Candidates with excellent academic results with a flair for the computers can easily pass through the selection process. Almost all the universities offer these courses and the pattern of the syllabus is the same everywhere.

Normally all the MCA colleges compile this course into six semesters that are approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). The selection of the candidates is dependant on passing the written test and the personal interview. The course includes 26 instructional courses and 14 practicals for 5 semesters and project work and seminars in the 5th and the last semester of the year. Industrial visits constitute the main portion of the last i.e. the 6th semester.

The degree of MCA offers good career opportunities. Part time courses are also available in most of the private MCA colleges and computer institutes.
