Introduction
MD-Doctor of Medicine is a Post Graduate Program in the medical field. The medical field has seen extensive growth over the years. The medical career is increasing through new technologies and innovative ideas. Today the centre of medicine is the area of specialty. Earlier the general practitioners used to diagnose and treat the patients, but today the specialists undertake the process. The results are also better. So, specialization is expected from the medical candidates.
There are 3 major branches of medical studies in India including BAMS, BHMS and MBBS. Students from all the three streams are eligible for MD. The admissions to this program are based on the Entrance Exams regarding to the colleges or universities.
The major areas of requirements for MD
is an area where the practitioners present the role of the family doctor. They diagnose and treat various patients daily. Qualifications of these specialists are; an MBBS degree with a 3-year MD course in General Medicine or a Postgraduate diploma course in General Medicine.
Pediatrics is a specialized course in MD that concentrates on diagnosis and treatment of kid's diseases. Pediatrics is a 3-year MD course after MBBS.
Cardiology is a study of the pains related to the heart and the circulatory system. A cardiologist can diagnose all diseases related to the heart and can treat them. Cardiology is a 3-year MD program in the cardio therapy after an MBBS.
Gynecology is a study of female reproductive system. A Gynecologist diagnoses and treats the female in the specific conditions of reproductive system.
Psychiatry is the branch of medical studies that includes the study regarding to the psychological disorders. An MBBS doctor is eligible for this course. Psychiatry is a 3-year MD course.
