The state government of Punjab has largely contributed to the production of technically sound workforce in the state by imparting technical education across communities. Its Department of Technical Education & Industrial Training has a Technical Education Wing which regulates diploma level institutes including Polytechnics in the state. The courses offered in the Polytechnics are approved by the All India Council for Technical Education.
