Admission Criteria
Candidates who wish to take admission in the B.A (Hons) programs in Bengali, Urdu, Arabic, History, Sociology, Pol. Science and Sanskrit are required to have 50% aggregate marks as well as 50% marks in the relative subjects respectively in the qualifying examination. For B.A English (Hons), candidates are required to have 50% aggregate and 55% marks in English. The candidates are selected through admission test.
Candidates who wish to get admission to B.Com (Hons) are required o have 60% aggregate marks as well as maths or accountancy as their main subjects.
The criteria for B.Sc (Hons) category is:
Physics - 65% aggregate + 65% Physics + 65% Maths.
Chemistry - 70% aggregate + 70% Chemistry (Merit list on
aggregate only)
Mathematics - 60% aggregate+ 60% in Maths.
Statistics - 50% aggregate+ 60% Maths.+50% English(Merit list
on math marks
Microbiology - 65% aggregate+ 70% Chemistry+65% biology+
50% in English
Economics - 55% in aggregate+ 45% in Eco.+40% Math / 55%
aggregate with 50% Maths.
Application Procedure at Maulana Azad College, Kolkata:
Maulana Azad College admits students strictly on the basis of merit and academic performance. The candidates have to fill up the application forms offered by the college and then submit it back along with the required documents within the last date specified. The documents required along with the application form are:
- Copy of mark sheet of last public examination passed
- Copy of admit card / mark sheet including the date of birth.
- Copy of S.C./ S.T./ Backward Class certificate, if applicable.
- Attested copy of certificate from appropriate authority for a foreign national.
- Migration certification.
