Cochin University of Science and Technology is one of the most renowned universities in India. The University conducts CUSAT CAT every year for the admission of students to the various undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Cochin University of Science and Technology Common Admission Test (CUSAT CAT) 2008 will also be held at selected centers of the University. |
Eligibility Criteria for CUSAT CAT 2008
- B. Tech-Students seeking admission should have cleared the higher secondary examination of Kerala or equivalent with at least 50% marks in Maths. An aggregate of 50% marks in Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics is also required for admission.
- B.Tech in Instrumentation- Candidates willing to take admission in B.Tech Instrumentation should have passed the State of Kerala 10+2 examination or equivalent with a minimum of 55% marks in maths. An aggregate of 60% marks in all the three subjects Chemistry, Physics and mathematics is also required.
- B.Tech in Marine Engineering- Pass in 10+2 or equivalent with at least 50% marks in English. Candidates should also have a minimum PCM average of 60%.
- 5 Year LLB (Hons)-Candidates from the science and commerce streams should have a score of 60% in the 10+2 examination. Humanities students are required to have a minimum percentage of 55% marks. Candidates should be less than 21 years of age as on 1st January of the year of admission.
Postgraduate Programs
Admission depends on the score obtained by the candidates in the Cochin University of Science and Technology Common Admission Test (CUSAT CAT) 2008.
CUSAT CAT Application Procedures:
- Candidates seeking admission in any course are required to do the registration online. Application forms can be obtained either by post or by person.
- Candidates may apply for three courses at a time by paying an amount of Rs.750. The SC/ST and NRI candidates are required to pay an amount of Rs.400 and Rs.5750 respectively.
- One can also do the payment by sending a demand draft drawn in favor of “Registrar, CUSAT”, Ernakulam. The demand draft should only be prepared from any nationalized or scheduled bank.
- The demand draft can be send by post to IRAA Unit, CUSAT, Kochi-22.
- The candidates are requested to write their name and exact registration number at the back of the demand draft. You should also send the filled in confirmation page and passport size photograph along with the DD.
- 50% seats of the undergraduate program will be allotted to the students on the basis of their rank in AIEEE. The remaining seats are meant for the students of Kerala and admission for these seats depends on the common admission test.
