IIT Kanpur Library
IIT Kanpur is a known destination for the students who want to pursue their higher studies in management, engineering, humanities and sciences. This esteemed institution has nurtured many students into successful entrepreneurs and engineers.

The IIT Kanpur Library, also known as P.K. Kelkar library, is well-stocked with a wide range of collection. Earlier known as Central Library, it is among the biggest and resourceful libraries of the country. The whole library covers an area of 6973 sq. m.
Presently it houses more than 3, 00,000 volumes and 1000 periodicals.
The volumes contain Microform and CD-ROM databases, technical reports, standards, thesis, etc. The bulk of the books are on Science and Technology with some percentage of books on Humanities and Social Sciences and other subjects.

IIT Kanpur Library Timings
- From Monday-Friday, the library remains open from 8 am to 12 am.
- On Saturdays the library opens at 9 am and continues till 12 in the midnight.
- The library opens at 9 am and closes at 5:30 pm on Sundays & Holidays.
- During the examination days, the library of IIT Kanpur remains open round the clock.
- The Library remains open for 358 days a year and remains closed on National holidays. You can access the online library at any time of the day throughout the year.
- Books are circulated from 9 am to 9 pm from Monday-Friday and from 9 am to 4 pm on Saturdays. No books are issued on Sundays & Holidays.
IIT Kanpur Library Resources
The library has a separate collection of limited editions of the text books prescribed in the academic course structure of the Institute.
It also has a good collection of reference materials like, encyclopedias, directories, handbooks, yearbooks, almanacs, etc.
You can also get access to a wide collection of Thesis submitted by the M. Tech., M.Sc. and Ph.D students of the institute.
