NERIST 2010 |
The North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology was established by the Government of India. This institution was at first set up as a project of the North Eastern council, with a view to creating technical manpower at different levels for advancement of the North Eastern Region in India. NERIST is situated at the foothills of the Eastern Himalayas in Arunachal Pradesh. The NERIST Entrance Exam for PG Admissions is held for the M. Tech, M.SC in Forestry, and MBA programs. There are three different entrance examinations held for admission in three different levels such s NEE-I, NEE-II, NEE-III.
Eligibility for admissions to PG Programs at NERIST
M. Tech: Applicants are required to have B. Tech. or an equivalent degree with a CGPA 3.25 on a 5.00 point scale. Candidates can also have 60% aggregate marks for General Category with valid GATE Score. There will be a 5% marks relaxation for applicants in the SC/ST/PH category.
M. Sc. in Forestry:Applicants are required to have 4 year Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry/ Horticulture/ Agriculture with a CGPA 3.25 on a 5.00 point scale or 60% marks in total. Candidates having 3 year B.Sc. degree in Botany and Zoology with CGPA 3.25 or 60% marks are also eligible for admissions to the M. Sc program in Forestry. However if they are selected they have to undergo additional one year bridge course. There will be a 5% marks relaxation for applicants in the SC/ST/PH category.
MBA Programs: Applicants are required to have a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline and recognized by Association of Indian Universities (AIU). General category candidates should have a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. There will be a 5% marks relaxation for applicants in the SC/ST/PH category.
Selection Process for admissions to PG programs at NERIST
- Results of short-listed candidates will be displayed Notice Board at the institute and the same may be available on the Institute official website.
- Admit Cards will be sent by post to the short-listed candidates and no separate letter will be sent for the Written test/or interview.
- Sort-listed candidates to the PG programs have to appear for the written test and/or interview as per notification published.
- Candidates for MBA program have to appear for a round of written test, Group discussion and personal interview.
- Candidates will be selected on the basis of merit. Result of selected candidates will be displayed on the notice board of the institute and website as per notification published.

Availability of application forms: December first week, 2009 to January end, 2010
Last Date for receipt of completed application forms: February 1st week, 2010
Date of Admission Tests: April 4th week, 2010 ( tentative)
Date of Entrance Exam for NERIST:
- NEE-II & NEE – III: April 25th, 2010 (Saturday)
- NEE-I: April 26th, 2010 (Sunday)
