Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology (SMIT) UGET 2007

Introduction
The SMIT UGET is conducted for admission to the 4 year B.Tech and 5 year B.Tech MBA integrated course. Admission to the B.Tech courses of the Sikkim Manipal University is done through the AIEEE, State Govt. Test, SMU UGET, SAT/ Entrance Test at SMIT and through Lateral Entry. In 2007, 210 seats will be filled up through the SMIT UGET.

Eligibility: For admission to the B.Tech courses through the SMIT UGET candidates need to pass the 12th standard with at least 50% (45% for SC/ST) marks in Physics, Mathematics and chemistry (or Computer Science, Biotechnology, Biology as one of the optional subjects).

However candidates who have passed the diploma in the appropriate branch of Engineering awarded by the State Board of Technical Education with at least 50% marks in aggregate are also eligible to apply for SMIT UGET.

Those who have appearing in the qualifying examination can also apply provisionally for the Sikkim Manipal University UGET.

Pattern of SMIT UGET: The pattern of Test will be objective type multiple choice questions containing 80 from mathematics, 60 from physics, 60 from chemistry and 40 from General English.

Examination Centers: The SMIT UGET 2007 will be held at Bangalore, Chandigarh, Bhubaneshwar, Bhopal, Delhi, Guwahati, Kolkata, Lucknow, Pune, Siliguri, Silchar, SMIMS, Gangtok, SMIT, Rangpo, Patna, Ranchi.

Obtaining the Application form for SMIT UGET 2007: The application forms and the prospectus can be purchased from the SMIT/SMU UGET 2007 on payment of Rs. 400/-. It can also be obtained from the designated branches of UTI Bank and through post on payment of Rs.475/-. Candidates can download the application form from the Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology website.

Submitting the Application from of SMIT/SMU UGET: Duly filled application forms should reach the Director, Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology, Majitar, Rangpo- 737132, Sikkim India. Candidates are required to mention the course applied for and marks obtained by the candidate on the envelope. Those who have downloaded the application form need to send a DD of Rs. 1150/- (Rs. 750/-as examination fee and Rs. 400/- as prospectus fee). Others need to pay Rs. 750/- as examination fee.

Last date of Receipt of Application Form: 27th April 2007.

Date of SMIT UGET: 13th May 2007.

Declaration of UGET Result: 31st May.
