Introduction
Director of Technical Education conducts Joint Admission Test (JAT) for admission to Ist year of BE course to the two State Govt. Engineering Colleges i.e. Assam Engineering College, Guwahati; Jorhat Engineering College, Jorhat and Regional Engineering College, Silchar (Assam quota).
Eligibility: Higher Secondary Examination (12 years) from Assam Higher Secondary. Education Council or an equivalent examination with PCM, and English securing at least 50% marks in aggregate in PCM in one sitting are eligible.
Pattern of Test: JAT comprises 3 papers of 3 hours duration having question in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry of 100 marks each of the standard of the qualifying examination. The medium of the Test is English. Aptitude Test has been prescribed for the candidates applying for admission to B.Arch.
