Do you intend to continue with your Engineering studies in Karnataka and want to get admission in a well known engineering college of Karnataka? Karnataka Engineering Entrance Exams, known as CET (Common Entrance Test) is conducted every year to test the potential of the students like you. The Karnataka Common Entrance Test determines your eligibility for admission in engineering courses in the institutions within Karnataka.
Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) is another entrance test conducted for the students of Karnataka, but still CET is given the utmost importance.

Eligibility for CET
- If you are applying for Engineering or Technology courses you should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC or 12th Std. with Physics and Mathematics along with any of the optional subjects like, Chemistry, Bio-Technology, Computer Science, Electronics or Biology.
- You should have English as one of the prime subjects.
- If you have secured a minimum of 45% of marks in aggregate in the optional subjects, you are eligible to apply.
- For the students of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes, 40% in aggregate is the minimum percentage to be acquired in the qualifying examination.
Application Procedure of CET Karnataka
- The Brochure -Cum- Application Form has to be purchased from the schools or colleges of Karnataka in which you have studied PUC or 12th standard examination.
- A Demand Draft for Rs.550 has to be given to the Principals in advance.
- The Draft will be drawn in favor of “The Executive Director, Karnataka Examinations Authority, Bangalore”, payable at Bangalore.
- The students belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes have to pay Rs.400 in the form of a Demand Draft.
- If you are a repeating candidate or an ex-student who have passed the qualifying examination before 2008, you also have to submit the demand draft for Rs.550 to your respective schools or colleges.

Important Dates of Karnataka CET:
The brochures with application are distributed generally from the 3rd week of Feb.
Filled application forms are submitted to the principals in the first week of March.
The principals send the application forms to the CET Cell by the first week of March.
The application forms are submitted by Post to the CET Cell by the 3rd week of March.
Admission tickets are sent in the last week of April.
Karnataka CET Exam Dates
CET is held in the 1st week of May
Kannada Language test is held during the 2nd week of May.
The CET results are published by the last week of May.
The selection process takes place in the end of May.
