Maharashtra Engineering Entrance Exams

Introduction

The Maharashtra Common Entrance Test or MHT-CET-2008 for all Health sciences, Engineering and Pharmay Degree Courses will be conducted by the Government of Maharashtra and for that purpose it has appointed the Director, Medical Education and Research as the competent authority.

However, for the selection purpose there would be different competent authorities and the Directorate of Technical Education Maharashtra will be the competent authority for Engineering and Parma Courses. MHT CET 2008 is conducted for admission to the Govt./Municipal Corp./ Govt. Aided colleges of Health Sciences degree courses, Govt./ Govt. Aided/ University Managed Colleges/ University Departments and Unaided Private Colleges (those colleges who have given consent to participate in MHT-CET 2008) of Engineering and Pharmacy degree Courses and BVSc & AH degree course.

Eligibility: Indian nationals passed or appearing in the HSC (Std. XII) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with Maths and English as the subjects at HSC or its equivalent examination and must have secured minimum 50% aggregate marks (45% for backward class category candidates from Maharashtra State only). Outside Maharashtra candidates would be eligible to appear in the MHT-CET but they would be considered for admission to unaided private institutes only.

Schedule of MHT-CET 2008:

Date of Issuing information brochure and application form: 20th February 2008 to 1st March 2008.

Last date of submission of application forms to Principal of Jr. College/School and Divisional Authority: 1st March 2008.

Date of MHT CET, 2008: 8th May 2008
