Engineering Exam in Orissa

Introduction
Since 2003 the conduct of Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) in Orissa is entrusted to the Biju Batnaik University, Rourkela. Admission to the first year degree courses in Engineering/Technology, Architecture, and MBA/ MCA courses of Utkal University,
Berhampur University, Sambalpur University, Fakir Mohan University, Balasore, North Orissa University, Baripada and Pharmacy Colleges are made through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). In 2009 the Joint Entrance Examination will be held on 17th May. Candidates coming from outside the state of Orissa are eligible for admission only to the private Colleges and not the government colleges.
Eligibility Criteria For Orissa Engineering Entrance Exam
For Engineering/ Technology: Pass or appearing in 10+2 examination of Council of Higher Secondary Education, Orissa or equivalent with Physics, Mathematics, and one from Chemistry/Computer Science/Biology/Biotechnology. Candidates who have passed the 10+3 diploma course in engineering from SCTE & T, Orissa or its equivalent are also eligible to apply.
For Architecture: For admission to architecture courses through JEE 2009 candidates need to secure a minimum of 50% marks in their 10+2 exam with mathematics and one from Physics/Chemistry/Computer Science/Biology/Engineering drawing. Candidates with at least 50% marks in 10+3 years diploma course are also eligible to apply.
Application Procedure
Application forms of JEE 2009 can be obtained by sending an A/C payee demand draft of Rs 500/ drawn in favor of JEE 2009 on any nationalized bank in Rourkela along with a stamped (Rs. 75/-) 30 cm x 25 cm size cloth lined self addressed envelope to Chairman, JEE 2009 Biju Patnaik University of Technology Rourkela. Application forms can also be purchased from selected branches of State Bank of India and Syndicate Bank.
Submitting the Application Form of JEE Orissa 2009:
Duly filled application form can be submitted in the bank from which it was purchased or it can also be sent to Chairman, JEE 2009 Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Rourkela.
