Introduction
Vellore Institute of Technology better known as VIT is a premier Institute of Technology in India that offers 17 undergraduate programmes and 28 postgraduate programmes.
The VIT campus is spread over 250 acres of land on the Ranipet, Katpadi road at Vellore that is situated between two important cities- Chennai and Bangalore.
VIT is all set to conduct the VITEE 2010 as the notification for the engineering entrance exam is already out and it is time for the aspirants to hit the book.
Eligibility conditions for VITEEE 2009
If you are appearing in the 10+2 or its equivalent exam in March/ April 2010 or have already passed the exam with 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology you are eligible to take the VITEEE 2010. However the SC/ST candidates and candidates hailing from Jammu & Kashmir, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Sikkim, Tripura, Manipur& Mizoram need to have 50 % average marks in the above mentioned subjects.

Through VITEEE 2010 one can take admission to any of the following programmes of study including Bioinformatics, Bio-Medical Engineering, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & communication Engineering,Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering Mechanical & Energy Engineering.

Application procedure
You can procure the application forms for VITEEE 2010 from the designated branches of State Bank of India, Indian Bank or Post Offices on cash payment of Rs. 750/ or by handing over a DD of Rs. 750/ in person at VIT University, Vellore or their administrative office. One can also get the form by post by sending a request containing full address of the applicant and a DD of Rs.750/- drawn in favor of "Vellore Institute of Technology" payable at Vellore to the Admissions officer VIT University, Vellore-632 014, Tamil Nadu, India.
