Introduction
The Pearl Academy of Fashion, or PAF, as it is shortly known, is one of the most respected institutes of fashion and design in India. It will conduct the PAF entrance test for admission to its 4-year degree courses in Fashion Design, Fashion Merchandising & Production, Fashion Retail & Merchandising, Communication Design, Textile Design and Jewelery Design. In 2009 the Pearl Academy of Fashion entrance exam will be held on 1st June 2009.

Eligibility Criteria:
For admission to 4 year BA (Hons) Degree course in Fashion Design (FD), Textile Design (TD), Communication Design (CD), Jewelery Design (JD), Fashion Merchandising and Production (FMP) and Fashion Retail Merchandising (FRM) at Pearl Academy of Fashion, candidates need to pass the 12th standard or equivalent with at least 50% marks in aggregate in any stream.
Test Pattern:
The General Proficiency Test (GPT) for FMP and FRM course would test the knowledge of the candidate's proficiency in language (comprehension, vocabulary and expression), mathematics of 10th standard, logic etc. The GPT would be of 1 hour duration.
Candidates desiring admission in FD, TD, JD and CD need to take the Design Aptitude Test (DPT) in addition to the General Proficiency Test (GPT). The Design Aptitude Test examines the candidate's proficiency in perception, illustration, drawing visualization, color etc.
National Entrance Examination for Design
In 2009, students who get a valid test score from the National Entrance Examination for Design (NEED), and seeking admission into any of the design programmes of Pearl Academy of Fashion, would not have to appear for the Design Aptitude Test conducted by the institute. However there will be a cut-off mark below which NEED scores will not be taken into consideration when admitting students to Pearl Academy of Fashion.
Obtaining the Application Form for Pearl Academy of Fashion Entrance Exam: The application forms and prospectus for admission to various undergraduate courses at Pearl Academy of Fashion can be obtained by sending a request along with a crossed demand draft of Rs. 1150/- made in favor of "Pearl Academy of Fashion" payable at New Delhi. One can also procure the application forms and prospectus from the Academy's counter against cash payment of Rs. 1000/-.
You can also download it from the institutes's website www.pearlacademy.com. Those who download the application form should make the payment of Rs. 1000/- at the time of submitting the application form.
Submitting the Application Form of PAF Entrance Test: The duly filled application form should reach the Pearl Academy of Fashion, A-21/13, Naraina Industrial Area, Phase II, and New Delhi 110028 on or before 23rd May 2009. It can be sent either by post or courier. You can also submit the form by 5.30 p.m., 26th May by hand.
Test Centers:The Pearl Academy of Fashion Entrance Exam 2009 will be held in the following test centers- New Delhi (Pearl Academy of Fashion, Gargi College, Jesus & Mary College), Jaipur (Pearl Academy of Fashion), Chennai (Pearl Academy of Fashion) Kolkata (St. Xavier's College), Mumbai (PV Polytechnic), Lucknow (Mont Fort Inter College), Chandigarh (DAV Model School).

Application forms will be available from:April 2009 onwards
Date of Written Test:31st May 2009.
The results for the written test will be declared on June 13, 2009.
Group discussions and interviews will take place during 15-19 June 2009.
On 25th June final results will be declared.
The fees has to be paid by July 04.
