Chanakya National Law University (CNLU) National Law Entrance Test 2009

If you want to study a 5 year integrated program of B.A, LL.B. (Honours) in Chanakya National Law University, you can appear for the Common Law Admission Test. It began its operations from the campus of A.N.Sinha Institute of Social Studies in Patna, and over the years it has emerged as one of the premier law schools in India. It admits students to the 5 year integrated course on the basis of the marks and rank secured in CLAT, which is held nationally. There are 80 seats for this course in CNLU. However, 20 seats are reserved for directly admitting foreign citizens. If any of the seats in this category remain vacant, then general candidates can be taken for that seat.

Eligibility for Admissions to CNLU:

  • You have to secure 45% marks in total in your HSSC (Higher Secondary School Examination) or any equivalent exam.
  • If you have appeared in this qualifying exam this year, you can also take the test.
  • You should not have completed 21 years as on 01. 07.09. However, there is relaxation in the age limit for specially-abled and candidates of reserved category.

Procedure for Application:

  • You can collect the application form from the Corporation Bank or State Bank of India by paying Rs 2,000.
  • You can also download the form from www.clat.ac.in and send the filled-in form with a D.D of Rs 2000. The D.D should be drawn in favor of the Convener, CLAT and be payable at Bangalore.
  • After filling in the form, you can send it to the “Convenor , CLAT, National Law School of India University, Nagarbhavi, Bangalore-560242”.
  • The candidate also needs to fill in the OMR Option Form and give to the person in charge of the Examination Center on the day of the exam.

Exam Centers:



CLAT will be held in 20 centers across India, including Bangalore, Kochi, Chennai and Hyderabad.

Last Date for receiving the application: 10th April, 2008
Date of Examination: 11th May, 2008
