Management entrance exams are extremely popular in India. Large number of candidates sit for the management entrance exams every year to try and get admission into one of the top management colleges in the country. Management test papers are set with the aim to find out the standard of knowledge, the aptitude of the candidate and his or her ability to take admission in a management program.

Some of the main Management entrance exams in India are:
ATMA (AIMS Test For Management Admission)
The ATMA examination is held by the Association of Indian Management Schools (AIMS). The AIMs network represents over 350 Indian management schools in various national and international forums. ATMA is an all India test that helps potential candidates gain entry into a number of management institutes that are situated in the country. The selection is done purely based on the candidates performance. The ATMA 2008 test was held on 10th February across 27 cities.
CEMAT
Commonwealth Executive management admission test is conducted by the Indira Gandhi Open University twice every year for admission into the Commonwealth Executive Master of Business Administration (CEMBA) and Commonwealth Executive Master of Public Administration (CEMPA) programs.

Common Admission Test (CAT)
The common admission test or CAT is conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIM's) every year. The test is conducted to find out the aptitude of the prospective candidates and their ability to undertake the management programs offered by the institutes. Candidates who appear for CAT can apply to a total of 40 other institutes apart from the IIM's. The 2008 CAT is to be held on 18th November.
(IBSAT) ICFAI Business School Aptitude Test
The ICFAI business school conducts the IBSAT aptitude test every year to short list candidates who wish to take admission in its management programs. Candidates who wish to apply for the 2 year post graduate management program or the 1 year executive management program can sit for the IBSAT test. By passing the IBSAT test, candidates can apply for admission to any of the ICFAI business schools situated in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Goa, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Managalore, Mumbai, Noida and Pune.
Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) MBA Admission Test
The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade conducts its admission test every year for candidates who wish to get admission in its 2 year management programs. IIFT has campuses in New Delhi and Kolkata. The admission test is in written form and is conducted over 2 hours. The test is held to find out the reasoning, analysis and level of understanding of the candidates.
