All India Pre-Medical Test, AIPMT |
|
If you are determined to pursue medical after your + 2, you must seek admission to the renowned medical colleges and institutes. And All India Pre-Medical Dental Entrance Test, (AIPMT) is one such exam through which one can get admission to some of the best medical colleges in India. This Pre-medical exam is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi.
Eligibility for the Entrance Exam
- You must have completed the age of 17 years at the time of admission. The upper age limit for All India Pre-Medical /Pre-Dental Entrance Examination is 25 years. The SC, ST and OBC students have the privilege of extending the upper limit to some few more years.

- You can appear in the All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Examination for a maximum of 3 attempts.
- Apart from passing Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English, you must secure a minimum of 50% aggregate marks at the +2 examination. The percentage of marks required drops to 40% for the SC, ST or OBC students.
- If you have appeared in the +2 examination in 2008, you can sit in the entrance test.

Application Procedure for the All India Pre-Medical Entrance Examination
- The Information Bulletin and Application Form can be purchased from any of the branches of Canara Bank by paying Rs.400 in cash. The SC/ST candidates can obtain the form on cash payment of Rs.200
- For online application, the application is filled online and the print out is taken.
- You should send the form by Speed Post or Registered Post to Deputy Secretary (AIPMT), Central Board of Secondary Education, Shiksha Kendra, 2, Community Centre, Preet Vihar, Delhi-110 301.
- The examination fee is paid through a Demand Draft drawn in favor of the Secretary, Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi, payable at Delhi.
- You can obtain the Application Form by Speed /Registered Post by sending a written request with a Bank Draft for Rs.450 for General Category and Rs.250 for SC/ST Category payable to the Secretary, Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi
- The draft has to be furnished with a Self Addressed Envelope of size 12" x 10".
Entrance Test
- In the Preliminary Examination you have to attend a single paper of 200 objective type questions from Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
- The duration of paper is of 3 hours.
- After qualifying in the Preliminary Examination, you appear for the AIPMT 2008 Final Exam.
- The Final Examination would consist of two papers each of 2 hours duration.
Paper-1 - Physics and Chemistry.
Paper-2 - Biology (Botany and Zoology).
- You can opt for either English or Hindi question paper.
