BHU PMT/PAT Test 2009

The Banaras Hindu University conducts an entrance test for admission to 55 seats of the MBBS course and 25 seats of B. Pharm course. The BHU medical entrance test would be held in two stages for the MBBS Course and in one stage for the B. Pharm Courses (through the Screening test). The BHU PMT/ PAT screening would be held on the 6th May 2009 and BHU PMT main would be held on Sunday, the 14th June 2009.

However foreign nationals are not required to appear in the PMT examination for MBBS course. They may seek admission through the Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India, New Delhi, as per the rules laid down for the purpose and their nomination must reach by Wednesday, the 16th July 2009.

Eligibility Criteria for BHU PMT/PAT 2009: For admission to the MBBS and B.Pharm courses of Benaras Hindu University, candidates need to pass at least the Intermediate, 10+2 or equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% marks (40% in case of SC/ST candidates) in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Zoology + Botany) taken together. Those who are appearing in qualifying examination may also apply for BHU PMT/PAT 2009.

Candidates should also complete 17 years but not crossed 25 years as on 31st December 2009 (Candidates born after 1st January, 1992 and on or before 31st December, 1983 need not apply).

Test Centers: The BHU PMT pat screening entrance would be held at Varanasi, Delhi, Kolkata and Hyderabad centers. The BHU PMT-2009 main examination for MBBS course, which will be held on Sunday, the 14th June 2009 at Varanasi Centre.

Obtaining the Application form: Application forms for the BHU PMT/PAT 2009 can be obtained through the following method:

By Cash: On payment of Rs. 1000/- (Rs. 600/- for SC/ST candidates) from the following branches of Bank Baroda.
(i) VARANASI - (1) BHU, (2) Ram Katora, and (3) Orderly Bazar Branches. (ii) DELHI-(1) Parliament Street, (2) Shakti Nagar, and (3) Nehru Place Branches. (iii) LUCKNOW - Charbagh Branch. (iv) KOLKATA - College Street Branch. (v) HYDERABAD - Hyderabad Main Branch, ABIDS Circle (vi) PUNE - Station Road Branch (vii) BHOPAL - TT Nagar Branch (viii) JAIPUR - DCM Branch. Application Form can be obtained from Bank of Baroda (BHU Branch, Varanasi only), up to Thursday, 28.02.2009.


By Post: Application forms for PMT /PAT 2009 can be obtained from the Office of the Director (PMT-Cell), Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi-221 005 by sending a written request through Registered Post along with Crossed Demand Draft/Bankers Cheque (MICR only) of Rs. 1060/- (Rs. 660/- for SC/ST candidates) of a Nationalized Bank, drawn in favor of "The Director, Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU" payable at Varanasi.

The request for application form must include the name and address of the candidate, and full particulars of the enclosed DD/BC (with candidate's name and address on the back of DD). Two self-addressed, preferably typed, white paper slips of 10 cm ´ 6 cm size MUST also accompany it.

The Envelop containing requisition for PMT/PAT application form should be super scribed "Request for Application for PMT/PAT-2009, BHU". Last date of requisition for PMT/PAT form by post is Wednesday, the 9th March 2009. Incomplete/non-cashable Draft (under amount/unsigned/ without Bank Code No. & Seal) shall not be accepted.

Candidates should note that separate Bank Draft will be required for each application form and M.O./I.P.O./Cheques will not be accepted under any circumstances. Application Forms from the Office of the Director (PMT-Cell), Institute of Medical Sciences, can be obtained by Post only and not in person. In case forms are not available at Bank of Baroda Branches, the same can be obtained by post from Director's Office.

Application Procedure: Duly filled application form of the BHU Medical Entrance exam must be sent through Registered Post so as to reach The Director (PMT CELL), INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES, BANARAS HINDU UNIVERSITY, VARANASI-221 005 latest by Saturday, the 9th March 2009 till 5.00 PM. Application forms received after the last date shall not be accepted.
