Medical Entrance Exams in Karnataka

If you are determined to opt for higher medical studies and have the desire to study in the top medical colleges and institutes of Karnataka, you have to crack the Medical Entrance Exams in Karnataka. CET (Common Entrance Test) is an important entrance examination conducted all over the state of Karnataka to judge your potential as a medical student. The entrance tests are conducted every year and you get admission on the basis of your scored percentage. The question paper of the Medical Entrance Test is segmented into three separate sections.
The first part is dedicated to Physics & Chemistry questions of 120 Marks. In the second section you have to solve the Mathematics problems of 60 Marks. The third part of the paper comprises Biology questions of 60 Marks. Moreover, the Karnataka Private Medical and Dental Colleges Association and Karnataka Unaided Private Engineering Colleges Association conducts a separate common entrance test for admission to its member institutes. These entrance tests are known as Karnataka UGET and Karnataka PGET.

Eligibility for admission to Karnataka Medical Colleges through Karnataka CET
  • If you are applying for Medical or Dental courses you should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC or 12th Std. with Physics and Mathematics along with any of the optional subjects like, Chemistry, Bio-Technology, Computer Science, Electronics or Biology.
  • You should have English as one of the prime subjects.
  • If you have secured a minimum of 50% of aggregate marks in the PCB group you are eligible to apply for Karnataka Medical Entrance Test.
  • A minimum of 40% in aggregate is required to sit for the exam if you belong to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes.
