Medical Entrance Exams in Maharashtra

If you are interested in pursuing medical education in Maharashtra, you can appear in the Medical Entrance Exams in the state. The state government of Maharashtra organizes a common entrance test for students seeking admission to several degree courses including Health Science and Pharmacy programs. Known as Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET), this exam is conducted in all the district headquarters of the state. The exam centers function at 523 Schools or Junior Colleges in the state.

Eligibility:

  • For appearing in MHT-CET, you should be a Class 12 pass-out.
  • If you are still a student of Class 12 or an equivalent level in Maharashtra, you can submit the requisition for the brochure and application form to your school or college.

Procedure for Applying for MHT-CET, 2010



You can get admitted to any Government, Government aided or Municipal Corporation Colleges by taking this test.
  • The Director, Medical Education and Research (DMER), Mumbai regulates admission to any Medical program.
  • You can collect the information brochure and the application form from the school or Junior College, where you appeared for your Class 12 exam. You need to submit the filled-in application form within this time period.
  • If you have passed Class 12 exam from outside Maharashtra, you will get the forms from the office of Divisional authority in your locality.
  • You can buy the form and 3 MHT-CET-2009 brochures at a cost of Rs 900. The amount is Rs 700 for applicants of reserved category in Maharashtra.

Important Dates of MHT-CET, 2010 (Tentative)

  • CET Application Forms are available from March 2nd week to 4th week, 2010
  • Date of CET is May 1st week, 2010
  • Declaration of Results is Mid June 2010
