About Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences
Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences is a pioneer in providing health care facilities in the rural areas of India. Built up on the ideology of Mahatma Gandhi, MGIMS has traveled the path of progress since it rolled out the first batch of MBBS graduates in 1969. The admission to the MBBS course of Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences is done on the basis of an entrance test. In 2008, the MGIMS MBBS entrance test was held on 20th April.

Eligibility: For getting admission to MGIMS’s MBBS course, the candidates should be at least 17 years of age by 31st December of the academic year in which taking admission.They should pass the 12th Std. under 10+2 system of Maharashtra State Hr. Sr. Education Board or any equivalent exam with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology as subjects. Candidates should also have an aggregate of at least 50% marks (40% in case of SC and ST including VJ & Nomadic Tribes and OBC) Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together. Candidates appearing in 10+2 exam in March/April are also eligible to sit in the all India Competitive Entrance Examination.
Pattern of Test: The papers of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics would have multiple-choice questions and paper of Gandhian Thought is of essay /or short answer type. The final selection is made on the basis of merit in the Entrance Examination.
Application Procedure: Prospectus and application form can be had from the office of the Dean, by remitting the requisite a fee of Rs. 1050/- by Money order in favor of the Dean, Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Sevagram, Distt.:-Wardha - 442102 or by paying a cash amount of Rs. 1000/- from the College counter. Candidates are supposed to write their full address in capital letters and phone number on the "space for Communication” and the “space for sender's address” on the money order form.
Schedule of MGIMS MBBS Entrance Exam
Date of Issuing Forms: 6th December 2007.
Last date of receipt of forms: Up to 29th February 2008 without late fee and up to 14th March 2008 with a late fee of Rs. 100/-
Date of Entrance Exam: 20th April 2008.
