Medical Entrance Exams in Orissa |
Admission to the government and private medical colleges in Orissa is made through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). The courses offered at the medical colleges and universities in Orissa include MBBS/BDS and Pharmacy courses. Aspiring candidates have to sit for the Medical Entrance Exams in Orissa to get admissions to the MBBS/BDS, Pharmacy and other medical programs. Every year the State of Orissa conducts the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE).
Date of Medical Entrance Exams in Orissa -2009
The Joint Entrance Examination for the year 2009-2010, in Orissa is scheduled to be held on Third week of May, 2009 at selected centers for admission to the first year Degree courses in MBBS/BDS, Pharmacy.

Admissions to MBBS/BDS Course
Eligibility: Candidates should have passed or should be appearing in 10+2 examination of CHSE, Orissa or its equivalent with minimum of 50% aggregate marks in Biology Physics and Chemistry.
The minimum of aggregate marks required for SC/ST candidates is 40% in 10+2 examination.
Age Limit: Candidates have to be between 17 and 25 years of age as on 31.12.2009. (For SC/ST candidates, age limit can be relaxed up to 3 years).
Admissions to Pharmacy Course
Eligibility: Candidates must pass or should be appearing in the 2009 10+2 examination with Physics and Chemistry together with any one of the following subjects: Mathematics/ Biology/ Computer Science/ Biotechnology.
Candidates having a Diploma including those with less than 60% aggregate marks from SCTE & VT, Orissa or equivalent are also eligible for admissions to 1st year Pharmacy. Further, they have to appear in Chemistry, Physics, and Biology or Mathematics (or both) in the Orissa Joint Entrance Examination (JEE).
Application Forms Orissa JEE -2009
Application forms for Orissa JEE -2009 can be obtained on payment of Rs. 520/- (including Rs. 20/- as service charges) from the various branches of State Bank of India, Syndicate Bank or Post offices in Orissa.
Application Form can also be obtained through post by sending A/C payee Demand Draft for Rs. 500/- drawn in favor of JEE-2009 on any nationalized bank Payable at Bhubaneswar together with a stamped self addressed envelope from the Office of the Chairman, JEE-2009.
Completed application form has to be submitted to the Banks/Post Offices from where it is purchased or be sent by post to the address provided below:
