Medical Entrance Exam in Punjab

Punjab Medical Entrance Test (PMET) is conducted for admission to MBBS/BDS/BAMS/BHMS courses in Govt. and Private institutes in the State of Punjab.

Eligibility: Passed Sr. Sec. exam. securing at least 50% (for SC/ST 45%) aggregate marks in PCB and English taken together or Pre-professional/pre-medical examination with PCB after 12th exam.


Those awaiting the result of qualifying exam may also apply. Medical fitness is also necessary.

Pattern of Test: PMET is conducted in three compulsory subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology). The question paper for the test is of objective type with multiple answer choices.

Selection is based on merit in PMET. For admission to MBBS/BDS, candidate must have secured at least 50% (40% for SC/BC) in the PMET. For admission to BAMS/BHMS: Candidate must have secured at least 40% (33% for SC/BC) in the PMET.

Examination Test:Amritsar, Bhatinda, Chandigarh, Faridkot, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, and Patiala.

Forms are available from 3rd week of May, 2010
Deadline for submission of application forms: 1st week of June, 2010
Date of entrance examination: Mid of June, 2010
