Ans: General Certificate of Education of University of London is recognized in India. Those who have passed in five subjects at least at the G.C.E. (ordinary level) and two subjects at the (Advanced Level) or 4 at 'O' Level and 3 at 'A' level are treated as having successfully completed the 12-Year Pre-University/Higher Secondary in India (EC/SC dt.20/22.4.80).

The National Qualifications Framework (NQF) of South Africa recognizes three bands of education and training They are- General Education and Training (GET), Further Education and Training (FET) and Higher Education and Training (HET). General Education and Training refers to education and training provided at primary and secondary school level, from grade R to 9. Further Education and Training refers to education and training provided from Grades 10 to 12, including career-oriented education and training offered in technical colleges, community colleges and private colleges. Higher Education and Training band provides the highest level of education. Entry into higher education is through a Grade 12 pass or Grade 12 pass with exemption. Private institutions offering higher education in South Africa must register with the Department of Education in accordance with the Higher Education Act, 199.
