GATE Organizing Institutes
The responsibility of administering and conducting the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering lies on the eight GATE organizing Institutes. They conduct the GATE through the GATE Committee on behalf of the National Coordinating Board - GATE, Department of Education, Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD), Government of India.
These eight institutes are-
- Indian Institute of Science Banagalore
- Indian Institute of Technology Delhi
- Indian Institute of Technology Bombay
- Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati
- Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur
- Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur
- Indian Institute of Technology Madras
- Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee
However, each year only one institute is designated as the organizing institute of GATE. For GATE 2008, Indian Institute of Science Banagalore is the organizing institute. |
