Getting admission to an IIT institute is a dream that may not come true for many aspirants if they did not have financial aid in the form of scholarships, fellowships and concessions offered by the institutes. IIT's in India understand the fee structure of the institutes as a probable obstacle in the paths of deserving students due to unfavorable financial conditions. For this purpose, IIT's developed their own scholarships and concession programs that would help the deserving candidates apply for admission.
IIT Chennai
IIT Chennai offers a number of scholarships and financial aid for its prospective candidates. Scholarships provided for B.Tech programs are:

IIT Roorkee:
IIT Roorkee offers merit-cum-means scholarship up to 25% for undergraduate students. The institute also announces several other scholarships periodically. IIT Roorkee provides Institute free studentship and scholarships to undergraduate students from scheduled castes and scheduled tribes. It also awards merit-cum-means scholarships to M.Sc. degree students.
IIT Guwahati:
IIT Guwahati offers awards of Merit-cum-Means Scholarships to the under graduate students provided they fulfill the criteria laid down by the institute. Candidates can also avail the Inlaks foundation awards given to meritorious student of the BTech program. Indian Womens' Association, Bonn (IWAB) scholarship is offered to deserving female under-graduate students.
IIT Bombay:
IIT Bombay offers the Research Fellowship and Summer Internship Schemes. The main aim of these aids are to attract professionals and students towards the research activities at IIT Bombay. Students who are provided the awards have to work on research projects. They are even considered for admission into post-graduate degree / Ph.D Programs at IIT Bombay subject to their criteria.
