Introduction:
National Science Library, Delhi (NSL) was established in 1964. NSL boasts of an enviable collection of books, journals and periodicals on Science and Technology from India and abroad. NSL contains more than 2,00,000 volumes of journals in diverse fields like computer softwares and hardware, documentation of seminars and workshops in India and abroad, the latest works in science and technology, the journals covering the research and development activities in India and abroad, dictionaries in foreign languages, database in the form of CD ROMS about various topics in information technology, research activities, etc. NSL is a boon for all the technocrats, research scholars and scientists as it opens up a golden opportunity to them for devouring the meticulous details of their subjects through NSL's colossal collection of books, periodicals, research papers, etc.

Rules and regulations of NSL
While a member can borrow 1 book, institutions can borrow 6 books and retired CSIR employee can borrow 1 book for a time frame of 1 month and renewal can be done only once after completion of the month . The fines charged after the expiry period are Rs.5 for 5 consecutive days followed by Rs 10 per day from the 6th day.

The library is open from 9 A.M. To 8 P.M. from Monday to Friday and from 9.to 8 P.M on Saturday.

Facilities offered by National Science Library,Delhi

The library provides information about the books and periodicals in NSL. It also provides xerox facilities at subsidized rate for the students and scholars. NSL is actively involved in distributing its journals to other libraries of Delhi and in turn takes the material from other libraries through loan service between the libraries. NSL also provides a golden opportunity for the readers to read the e- journals of reputed societies and publishers in science and technology throughout the world.
