About: Kittur Rani Channamma Girls School Karnataka is one of the residential schools in India. It is located in Kittur, between Hubli and Belgaum which is in proximity to the Pune-Bangalore National highway. The school was founded on September 17, 1969 in memory of Rani Channamma, the great queen of Kittur. Spread over an area of over 200 acres, the Kittur Rani Channamma Girls School Karnataka happens to be a member of the Indian Public Schools Conference.

The school maintains 3 troops of N.C.C.

The students are encouraged to prepare and take part in competitive examinations like NTSE, (National Talent Search Examination), All India General Knowledge Tests and other entrance tests.

Students also take part in debates, elocutions, dramatics and performing arts.

Admission process:
  • For admissions filled in applications need to be submitted with the prescribed forms enclosed with the prospectus, in March.
  • The applications and the filled Hall Ticket for admission should be with the following things:
  • A certificate from the name of the Head of the school, class of the student and the date of birth.
  • A Nativity/Domicile certificate duly signed by a competent Revenue Authority.
  • A caste cum income certificate from an authority specified (Tahshildar) wherever applicable.
  • Two copies of the latest passport size photographs of the candidate affixed on the application form as well as the identity card.
  • The envelope sent needs to be returned with the application after your postal address is written and postal stamp (Rs. 30/-) is affixed.
FFP Scheme
  • Admissions on Full payment of Fees are done on yearly basis. Only a limited number of children are allowed admission to standards VI to IX and PUC I (Sc).
  • Applications should be sent before the month of March of the academic year previous to the one in which the student is seeking for admission.
  • Before admitting the candidate, the student is tested for suitability which is conducted in March / April generally.
  • Admissions are based on the total of the suitability test marks and Viva Voce.
  • The child needs to undergo Medical Examination and Physical fitness test.
  • The suitability test is based on Language Ability (English) and Mathematics and Mental Ability.
  • MS Scheme:
    Admissions based on scholarship scheme are done only in the VI Std.
  • 50% of the admissions every year are based on merit scholarships and the rest half on merit-cum-means scholarships for all the categories.
  • Eligibility:
    Girls who are aged 10 years or more but below 12 years on 1st June of the year on which admission is sought, are considered eligible for admission.
    • Application Criteria of Physical Standards:
    • For the children between 10-11 years, the height should be 128 cm and weight 25 kg or above.
    • For children between 11-12 years, the height should be 130 cm and weight 28 kg or above.
The candidates should have passed or be studying in Std.V while applying for the scholarship admission.

Scholarship programs:
  • Merit Scholarships:
    These scholarships are meant for the students who belong to the top half of the merit list. The merit list is prepared based on the performance of the students in the Entrance Test. The entrance test is on Written and interview basis. The scholarship does not depend on the income of the parents.

  • Merit-cum-Means-Scholarships:
    The other half of the admissions on scholarships each year is made against merit-cum-means. These scholarships are awarded to those students who are just next to the merit scholars in the merit list. The value of the Merit-cum-means scholarship is dependent on the parents’ income which follows the following criteria:
  • Present Income Slab is:

    If the Income Slab is up to Rs. 8000/- pm, the Rate of Scholarship is Full Scholarship + Uniform Charges
    If the Income Slab is Rs.8001/- to 9000/- pm, the Rate of Scholarship is 3/4th Scholarship + Uniform Charges
    If the Income Slab is Rs. 9001/- to 10,001/- pm, the Rate of Scholarship is 1/2th Scholarship only
    If the Income Slab is Rs. 10,001/- to Rs. 11,000/- pm, the Rate of Scholarship is 1/4th Scholarship only

  • Reservations: Admission for MS Scheme is done on reservations to various categories as per the orders of the Government.

  • Entitlement to Scholarships from other sources: Students who are allowed admission on scholarship, under the given scheme are not entitled to receive scholarships, stipends and others from other sources.
Fee structure:
At the time of admission the total fees of Rs. 37,000-00 including the deposits is to be paid.

The fees for the subsequent years are Rs. 32,000-00.

Note:
The students who have been awarded the Govt. of Karnataka Scholarships are entitled to receive a partial financial assistance of about Rs. 14,000.00 every year.

The Fees are liable to increase up to 10% for subsequent years annually, if necessary.

Personal expenses and other miscellaneous charges are subtracted from pocket money account.
