Maharani Gayatri Devi Girls' Public School is one of the oldest educational institutes of Rajasthan. In the year 1943, Maharaja Sawai Ram Singh of Rajasthan established this school. This school is popularly known as MGD School. According to school history, it is regarded that, MGD was the first girls’ public school to be acknowledged as one of the members of the Indian Public Schools’ Conference (I.P.S.C.).
The founder principal of this school was Ms. L.G. Lutter. From its foundation, it was a CBSE affiliated school offering all round educational programs to its students. It is an English medium public school.
Maharani Gayatri Devi Girls' Public School, Rajasthan is located near Ajmeri gate, in the center of the beautiful city of Jaipur. The school is divided into four houses, which are named after four great women achievers, Helen Keller, Madame Curie, Sarojini Naidu and Florence Nightingale. Shiromi Chaturvedi, a student of Class VII. She took part in 'The General Knowledge Test' in which more than 800 children of different school participated. In this test, she stood first.
Nitanshi Aggarwal, a student of class IV. She is the youngest member of Tackwondo team of Maharani Gayatri Devi Girls' Public School, Rajasthan. She is also the captain of the Tackwondo team.
Tanvi Chopra, a student of class IV. She stood first in Poster making competitions organized by the Lions Club International. She stood first amongst 400 students from 40 different schools of Jaipur. She also got third position in the same competition among thousands of students from various schools of both Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
Radhika Mehta, a student of class IV is a well known as ‘Chirmi’ dancer of the school. She has achieved awards for her performances in the Boogie Woogie Dance competition in the year 2002. In this dance competition, Radhika secured third position.

Admission process:
There are very limited seats in every class in an academic year. The minimum age to take admission to class I is 6+as on 31st March of the current academic session. Once a candidate is admitted as a border of the school would not be permitted to become a day scholar.
Registration in Class-I only will open from 1st October of the present academic year. Parents of the aspiring have to submit the Registration form and attested prospectus along with a fee of Rs. 1000/- (non-refundable) latest by 30th November of the same year.
All the candidates who are seeking admission have to appear for a written entrance test and a personal interview. The common entrance test would include three subjects like Mathematics, English, and Hindi. Candidates who qualify in both the entrance test and personal interview would be considered for direct admission in Maharani Gayatri Devi Girls' Public School, Rajasthan. The written tests and interviews of the Candidates would be held in the third week of February. The time, date, and place of the exams shall be informed to the parents well in advance.
