Mahatma Gandhi Vidyamandir was founded by the Late Karmaveer Bhausaheb Hiray on 2nd October 1952. Back then, the Vidyamandir stood at Malegaon Camp, a small rural town in Nashik District registered under society's Registration Act 1860 and Bombay Public Trust Act 1950. Since its inception, the institute has been endeavoring to bring about intellectual awakening in the students from urban, rural and tribal backgrounds, through education. The institution functions on the values of "Bahujana Hitay Bahujana Sukhay" – Benefit And Happiness Of One And All.
