Management: The Local Administration Board looks after the day to day administration while the overall administration is under the Board of Governors presided by the Defence Minister. The Principal, Headmaster and the Registrar have important roles in the management of the school.
Admission process:
Admission is done only in classes VI and IX.
Students should be between 10 to 11 and 13 to 14 years on 1st July of the academic year for the respective standards.
Admission is granted on merit basis of the All India Sainik Schools Entrance, Interview and Medical Examinations. This examination is generally held on 1st Sunday of January every year at different centers of Rajasthan.
Students who seek admission in class VI have to give entrance test on Math and Language of 200 marks and Intelligence of 100 marks. The total duration of the test will be 2 hours and 40 minutes.
Class IX students have to clear theirs Math and Science papers of 275 marks and English and Social Studies of 175 marks. The entrance test will be conducted for 4 hrs and 30 minutes.
Class VI students will get bilingual question papers while students of standard IX will be provided only with the English.
Students of both of these grades can write their answers in Hindi or English.

General students have to score at 25% per subject and 40% in aggregate to get admission.
However, gaining of the requisite marks does not assure you about getting interview calls. On merit list students are called for admission interview.
67% seats are reserved for the boys of Rajasthan of which 15% is for the SC candidates, 7. 5% is for ST students and 25% for the children of Service persons and ex- servicemen.
Scholarship programs: Students get scholarship on the basis of their merit. Children of the employees of the Defence sector including the ex- servicemen are awarded by the MOD. Pupils join in the NDA are also given the entire fees of class XI and XII as compensation. To all categories of students a grant of about 10, 000 is given every year by the Central Government.
Besides, students of the Sainik School, Rajasthan are also given scholarships on the basis of their guardian’s annual income:
Students whose parents earn up to Rs.5, 000 per month will get full amount of scholarship. The General will get 11,100 and the SC/ ST will be given Rs.14, 600.
Students whose parents' income per month is between Rs.5, 001 to Rs.7, 000 will be given 3/ 4 of the scholarship. General candidates will get Rs.8, 325 and the SC/ ST will get Rs.10, 950.
Parents of the student who earn between Rs.7, 001 and Rs.9, 000 will get half of the scholarship. For the SC/ ST candidates the amount will be Rs.7, 300 and for the non- ACT/ ST it will be 5, 550.
Children whose parents will earn Rs.9, 001 to Rs.11, 000 will be given 1/ 4 of the scholarships. Rs.3, 650 will be provided to the SC/ ST students and the General candidates will get Rs.2, 775.
Students, both SC/ ST categories, whose parents' income in a month is Rs.11, 001 and above will not get the advantage of the scholarship program.
