Introduction:
The China Government Scholarship is offered to interested candidates from the External Scholarships Division of the Ministry of Human Resource and Development, Govt. of India. This Department specializes in arranging for a large number of international scholarships to Indian students from foreign governments.
The China Govt. Scholarships are offered for post graduate and doctoral studies in the following subjects:
- Chinese language and literature
- Fine Arts
- Economics
- History
- Acupuncture
- Traditional Chinese Medicine
- Bio-technology
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Botany
- Zoology
- Environment Science
- Plant Breeding and Genetics
- Fisheries
- Political Science
Eligibility:
The following are the eligibility requirements for the various subjects of study:
- Candidates should be Indian nationals below 40 years of age. A special relaxation of 2 years for SC/ST candidates are given
- Candidate should have a certificate or diploma in basic Chinese language from a recognized institute
- Candidates should have a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts with a minimum of 60% marks
- For subjects other than Fine Arts candidates should have a minimum of 60% marks at the post-graduate level with 2 years experience in work research
Duration :
The scholarships are for a period of 1-2 years
Value of Scholarship
The scholarships are 25 in number and the Chinese Govt. provides for expenses incurred on account of boarding and lodging, fees for tuition and other daily expenses. The passage fare to and from India is provided for by the Indian Government
Application Procedure:
In case the candidates are employed, they may send an application in the approved format, with necessary sponsorship from the employers. Application should be in plain paper and must reach the Ministry of Human Resources within the fixed date.
Notification :
The academic session commences in September and the notification is published in Employment News and leading dailies during February or March.
