The Jamia Millia Islamia JBT Scholarship is a scholarship awarded by the Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi. The JBT scholarships were introduced by the University of Illinois, College of ACES to develop these qualities among young students who have just passed out of high school. The JBT scholarships are awarded purely on the basis of merit and are financed by contributions received by the Jonathan Baldwin Turner Scholarship Program.
Jonathan Baldwin Turner, an agricultural worker and lecturer at the University of Illinois, USA opened up education in agriculture in his state and country, in the 1850’s. Turner had in mind, a global and exhaustive system of education in agriculture.
Eligibility Criteria for the JBT Scholarship:
The eligibility criteria for candidates applying for the JBT scholarships from the Jamia Millia University are the same as that for students applying for admission to the post-graduation courses in the University. The scholarships are awarded to those students who have secured the top positions in their respective subjects of study in the under graduate courses.
Duration:
The scholarships are awarded for a maximum period of 10 months and a total of 10 scholarships are awarded.
