The Junior Research Scholarships for Cancer Biology Tata Memorial Centre & Tata Memorial Hospital is awarded to students for conducting advanced research work. This is a joint effort of the Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer and the Tata Memorial Hospital.
These two institutions are affiliated to the University of Mumbai and their research activities are focused on cancer biology and its related areas like
biochemistry, medical physics, tumor immunology, immunotherapy, virology, chemotherapy etc.
Eligibility Criteria for the Cancer Biology Tata Memorial Centre & Tata Memorial Hospital Junior Research Scholarships:
The eligibility criteria for applying for Junior Research Fellowships for Cancer Biology at the Tata Memorial Centre are the following:
- Candidates should have a post graduate degree in any of the following subjects with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate, from a university which is recognized by the UGC:
Applied Biology, Zoology, Biophysics, Life Sciences, Molecular
Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Medicine,
Veterinary Science and Pharmacy
- Candidates applying for the scholarships should have appeared for either their M.Sc or MBBS or M.Pharm
Value of Scholarships:
The amount of financial grant under the Junior Research Scholarships for Cancer Biology is Rs. 8,000/- per month. The House Rent Allowance is granted on a case to case basis.
Application for Scholarships :
Candidates are required to send in applications, complete in all respects along with a Demand Draft for Rs.150/- in favor of TMCACTREC within the specified date. Demand Draft is not required to be sent in case of candidates belonging to scheduled castes and scheduled tribes.
Candidates are selected for the Junior Research Scholarships on the basis of a written objective type test. On completion of the test and subsequent evaluation, the names of successful candidates are posted in the official website. These candidates are thereafter interviewed and a final list of successful Junior Research Scholars are made.
