In the field of education, which forms an integral part of community development, the scholarships for higher education of students belonging to scheduled castes and scheduled tribes is one such initiative.
Eligibility Criteria for the ONGC Scholarships for SC/ST students:
The ONGC Scholarships for students belonging to the scheduled castes and scheduled tribes categories have the following criteria for eligibility:
- Applicant should either be enrolled in the first year of a graduation course in engineering or post graduation course in Geology or Geophysics.
- Applicant may also be holding a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) and presently enrolled in any of the IIT’s or an Indian university or institute of repute.
- Applicant should not have an Overall Grade Point Average (OGPA) of less than 6 in a scale of 10. For students of Engineering, the evaluation is done for their performance in class 12 examination and for post graduation students in Geology or Geophysics or Business Administration the evaluation is done on the basis of their performance in graduation
- The yearly income of the parents of these applicants should not be more than Rs. 1.5 lacs.

- A recent passport size photograph
- Copy of Mark Sheet
