IMC Fashion Design
Integrated Management College (IMC), established in 2007, is a group college under
the IMI (International Maritime Institute) umbrella which came into
being in 1991 as a painstaking effort of 12 eminent professionals
from the maritime fraternity. The Institute has achieved unparalleled
success in its sphere and is now among the top 3 private training
institutes of the country. IMI enjoys links with a host of international
and national shipping companies and has a 100% placement record of
its cadets. About 3000 students have successfully graduated from IMIs
various programmes which range from 1 yr to 4 yrs in duration.
The group has 2 campuses and a combined area of about 8 acres located
in the verdant ambience of Greater Noidas knowledge park to
provide for a conducive learning environment. They are currently
in the process of developing a new campus in the heart of DELHI.
The Fashion Industry in India presents an exciting opportunity
as well as a challenge; all because of the ever growing Indian population.
The industry can be divided into 2 segments:
High Fashion/Couture: With big brand names like Louis Vuitton,
Versace, Gucci, Chanel etc entering the Indian market, there is
a severe shortage of professionals to cater to the business needs
of this segment i.e. people who can manage and operate there stores
and businesses in India.
Further, a lot of Indian designers have now started making a mark
both in the domestic and international markets with 4 fashion weeks
happening every year adding to Indias repertoire. This alone
has led to a spurt in the demand for designers, merchandisers, fabricators
etc.
Pret Fashion: Indias ever growing population, specially the
middle class with increasing disposable income i.e. spending power,
is leading to a spurt in the demand for fashionable/yet affordable
clothing. This in turn is leading to domestic players aggressively
expanding their production and distribution capacities.
Needles to say, there is dire shortage of qualified professionals
even in the domestic market and the need of the hour is for students
to go in for courses that give them a wholistic understanding of
fashion in all its complexities. The IMC School of Design provides
a complete and thorough Fashion Experience, wherein
we will start from the basic concept phase to final execution and
even selling phases.
Our unique integrated programme: Advanced Diploma in Fashion &
Technology (ADIFT) combined with a BSc in Fashion Design degree
provides students of fashion a best of both worlds. Our Diploma
gives us enough flexibility to change the structure and delivery
of the programme as per the ever changing industry standards and
at the same time students have the benefit of being awarded with
a degree in fashion as well.
