IMC Animation
Integrated Management College (IMC), established in 2007, is a group college under the IMI (International Maritime Institute) umbrella which came into being in 1991 as a painstaking effort of 12 eminent professionals from the maritime fraternity. The Institute has achieved unparalleled success in its sphere and is now among the top 3 private training institutes of the country. IMI enjoys links with a host of international and national shipping companies and has a 100% placement record of its cadets. About 3000 students have successfully graduated from IMI’s various programmes which range from 1 yr to 4 yrs in duration.
The group has 2 campuses and a combined area of about 8 acres located in the verdant ambience of Greater Noida’s knowledge park to provide for a conducive learning environment. We have currently opened a new campus in Saidullajab (South Delhi).

ANIMATION INDUSTRY:
According to the National Association of Software and Service Company (NASSCOM) report of 2006, revenues in Animation industry in 2005 registered $354 million with a growth rate of 24% than compared to 2004. The figure is likely to reach a whopping $950 million by 2009!! The share of fully animated movies is expected to increase significantly from 15% to 28% by 2009! Similarly, the gaming industry too is going to clock $300 million in business by 2009, from 30 million in 2005.
The facts are truly encouraging but unfortunately, the report also states that there is an acute shortfall of quality manpower in this segment. Currently there are only 16,000 professionals engaged in this segment with a further requirement of 40,000 with an average package of Rs 3 lacs to Rs 6 lacs per annum by 2009. Where are the qualified people???
Most programmes being delivered in India in the computing or animation sphere are very job specific i.e. they train you to handle certain aspects of a particular job in the production pipeline. So basically speaking the employees end up becoming clerks having a very insignificant or ignorance of the larger view of the product lifecycle. Very few employees understand the dynamics of the project from conceptualization to the final stage.
The education scenario in this sphere is such that most organizations are just delivering Diplomas/Certificates in various aspects of animation or computing which is centered or based around the nitty-grittes of software.
IMC is the only college in India to offer pathways to HONOURS degrees in Animation. The studio at IMC has also entered into an exclusive contract with the Radisson Group of Hotels to do all their animated walkthroughs and other studio works!!
