INTRODUCTION
Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics or NM College, as it is popularly known, was established in 1964 by Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal (SVKM) trust. It is named in the honor of Mr. Narsee Monjee who has devoted his life to the cause of indigenous cigarette factory. Strive for excellence at NM College is never ending and over the years it has established itself as one of the best commerce colleges in India. The primary aim of NM is to develop overall personality of the students so that they can face the challenges of the future with courage and confidence.
Therefore it encourages maximum participation of students in both curricular and non-curricular activities. Narsee Monjee college of Commerce and Economics is affiliated to Mumbai University.
NM College Admissions
Admissions to the Degree Courses at NM College: Admission to the degree course is based on the performance of the candidates in the 10+2 level of CBSE or its equivalent. However for admission to the Bachelor of management Studies programme is based on an entrance exam.
Admission to the Vocational Courses at NM College: Admissions to the vocational courses at NM is based on the performance of the students in the SSC exam.
Courses offered at NM College: NM College offers 3 year Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) programme, 3 year Bachelor in Management Studies Programme(BMS) and 3 vocational courses.
The vocational courses offered at NM College are:
1) 2 years Marketing and Salesmanship course. (Recognized by the University of Mumbai)
2) 2 years Accounting and Auditing course (Recognized by the University of Mumbai)
3) 2 years Travel & Tourism course
Eligibility of the Vocational Courses: The vocational courses at NM can be pursued after passing the SSC exam. After completing the vocational courses one can choose to join the B.Com courses.
