About Delhi College of Engineering
The history of Delhi College of Engineering or DCE, as it is popularly known, can be traced back to 1940 when the Delhi Polytechnic was established primarily to provide trained manpower in the Indian industries. In 1952 Delhi Polytechnic got affiliated to Delhi University and in 1965 it was renamed as Delhi College of Engineering. DCE is located 35 kilometers away from the Indira Gandhi International Airport and close to the Rithala Metro station.
Residential Facilities At DCE
DCE offers residential facilities to both its male and female students. It has five boys hostel that can accommodate up to 880 students. In contrast it has only one girl hostel that can accommodate up to 69 students. In addition to these six hostels DCE also has one hostel for the married students. It has the capacity to accommodate up to 15students.
At Delhi College of Engineering students are actively encouraged to participate in the co- curricular and extra curricular activities. They can participate in various sports events in and around Delhi.
It provides good facilities for badminton, football, basketball, cricket, tennis, volleyball, carom, chess and table tennis. Students can also regularly work out in the college gymnasium.

DCE Admissions
Admission to B.E. Courses at DCE:Admissions to the Bachelor Engineering courses in DCE are done on the basis of the performance of the candidates in the Combined entrance test conducted by the University of Delhi. The combined entrance test is conducted for admission to 85% seats of Delhi College of Engineering and Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology. Admission to the part time B.Tech course at DCE: Admission to this 4-year part time B.Tech course in DCE is done on the basis of the B.Tech Entrance test. Candidates need to have passed a state diploma of 3 years with at least 55% marks (45% for SC/St candidates) or its equivalent. They should also have at least one year of experience in the relevant field of an approved Engineering organization located in the National capital of Delhi or its nearby industrial areas. They are also supposed to produce a no objection certificate from the employer and continue to remain in work for the entire period of the course.
Admission to M.E. Courses at DCE: For admission to the M.E courses of DCE candidates need to have passed the B.E. degree or A.M.IE. (India)/A.M.I.E. (London), A.M.I Mech.Engg. (London),Grade I.E.T.E (India), A.M.I. Structure Engineering and candidates desiring admission to the full time program must have also qualified the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). For admission to the M.E. (Polymer Technology) a master's degree holder in Chemistry is also eligible to apply and for admission to M.E (Computer Technology & Applications courses) an M.Sc. in Mathematics/ Operational Research/Statistics/Computer Science/ Physics/Electronics Science or M.C.A from a recognized University is eligible also to apply. For admission to these courses candidates should be more than 21 years of age before the 1st of October in the year of admission. The course is available for sponsored candidates.

Admission to the MSc. Programme at DCE: For admission to the M.Sc Programme in DCE only sponsored candidates with a minimum of one year experience are eligible. They should also have a B.Sc.(Hons) in physics and Electronics or B.Sc. (gen) with Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry /Electronic Science/ Computer Science with at least 55 % marks in under the 10+2+3 pattern or 60% under any other pattern.

Admission to the Ph.D. Courses: For admission to the doctoral programme of Delhi College of Engineering in the Engineering Disciplines candidates need to have a Masters degree in Engineering or a Masters degree in technology and for admission to the Applied Sciences candidates need to have an Msc. degree from a recognized University.
