About CMC Vellore
Christian Medical College Vellore was established to prepare students who can serve the humanity by taking inspiration from the God. It seeks to develop in its students a commitment to service by sensitizing them to the needs of the other. In its more than 100 years of existence CMC Vellore has established itself as premier medical institute of India. Christian Medical College campus is situated at Bagayam, that is 7 km away from the hospital campus, which is situated at the heart of the Vellore town, Tamil Nadu. CMC is a co-educational residential college that pays adequate attention to the development of the infrastructure and recreational facilities for its boarders.
CMC Vellore Library
The library of CMC is well equipped and it caters to the educational needs of the students. A faculty -student center is set up so that there is greater interaction between faculty and students. The center is equipped with TV, Indoor games, magazine and a place to gather and chat. Students can also play basketball, tennis, badminton, volleyball, hockey cricket, football athletics while in the college.
CMC is owned and administered by the Christian Medical College Vellore Association. This association is made up of 54 churches and other Christian organizations engaged in medical health care activities. CMC is affiliated to Dr. MGR Medical University.
CMC Vellore Admissions
Admission to undergraduate courses in CMC: Admission to the degree courses at CMC is based on the performance of the written admission test and an interview. Application forms and Prospectus for the MBBS course can be obtained for a fee from the Registrar, Christian Medical College, Vellore, 632 002, Tamil Nadu, India. Admission to PG and Higher Specialty courses: Admission to PG and Higher specialty courses is also based on a written entrance test and an interview. The diploma courses at CMC are of 2 years duration while the M.D. M.S. and Dip.NB courses are of 3 years duration.
Courses at CMC Vellore
Degree Courses at CMC: The Christian medical College Vellore offers degree courses in Medicine (MBBS), Nursing (BSc), Physio-therapy (BPT), Occupational Therapy (BOT) and in Medical Laboratory Technology (BSc). For admission to these courses one needs to have 1-year internship experience and should be registered with the Medical Council.
