INTRODUCTION
Madras Medical College is rated among the best medical colleges in the country and is positioned in Chennai, India. This top medical college was founded on 2nd February, 1835. In the year 1996, the name of the college was changed to Chennai Medical College but due to its worldwide popularity, it was again renamed with the old name as Madras Medical College, Chennai. The Medical College Kolkata and this top medical college are considered to be the oldest medical institutes of the Indian subcontinent. There are some 84 departments in this medical college. At Madras Medical College, Chennai Medical students are awarded with some 80 medals and prizes every year and the Johnstone medal is the most prestigious among them.
